A man is due to appear in court after a serious assault in Nottingham city centre.
Officers were called to the Green Heart park near to Nottingham Central Library, after a man was picked up by a male and thrown to the ground face first, causing facial fractures that required surgery.
The incident happened shortly after 6.40pm on Thursday 24 July last year. Officers analysed CCTV footage and arrested a suspect in September.
Michael Peck, of Alpha Terrace, Nottingham, has now been charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent.
The 52-year-old has been granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court (pictured) on 5 February 2026.
Detective Constable Henry James, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a nasty assault and I hope our response in locating, arresting, and charging this suspect provides reassurance to the community that we will always investigate crimes of this nature and put suspects before the courts.”
