Police investigating a string of violent street robberies have charged another man in connection with the offences.
Kenneth Bromfield, 63, of Union Street, Beeston, has been charged with a total of 14 robbery and weapons offences relating to four separate incidents. They include:
- A robbery and an attempted robbery in Palmerston Gardens, St Ann’s, at around 10pm on 19 August
- Two robberies on the Forest Recreation Ground, Nottingham, at around 10.20pm on 19 August
- A robbery in Beeston High Road at around 12.30am on 20 August where the victim was threatened with a large knife
- Three robberies and one attempted robbery in Skegness, Lincolnshire, on the evening of 20 August.
Bromfield has been released on bail to attend court at a future date.
Logan Davies, 18, of Rose Close, St Ann’s, Nottingham, and a 15-year-old boy who can’t be named, have already been charged with a total of 42 offences (21 each) as part of the same investigation, which has now resulted in a total of 56 charges.
Both have been remanded into custody.
Detective Constable Richard Evans, from Nottinghamshire Police’s dedicated robbery team, said: “This is a complex and demanding investigation into a spate of violent incidents over the summer and our enquiries are continuing. Robbery is an incredibly serious offence that can have a lasting impact on victims and we will continue to do everything possible to bring this case to a successful conclusion.”
