A man has died following an incident at a house in The Meadows this morning.
Emergency services were called to a property in Ryeland Gardens shortly after 5.30am today.
A man with serious injuries was treated at the scene by paramedics but died a short time later.
Police detained a 34-year-old man in connection with the incident.
He has since been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
Detective Inspector Clare Gibson, of the Major Crime Team at the East Midlands Special Operations Unit (EMSOU), said: “I can confirm a man died following an incident in The Meadows this morning and that someone has now been arrested on suspicion of murder.
“Our investigation is still in its early stages, but we are treating the man’s death as suspicious.

“We do not currently believe there to be any threat to the wider public.
“We are working to understand exactly what happened inside this address, so there will be a significant police presence in the area while this takes place.
“As our investigation continues, we ask that anyone who saw or heard anything they think could be significant please share this with us.
“Any piece of information, however small or insignificant it might seem, could really help us establish the full facts of this tragic incident.”
