Three suspects have been arrested after a man was assaulted in Nottingham city centre earlier this morning.
Officers were called around 1.15am today (12 September) after a man was found unconscious in Clumber Street.
He’d reportedly been walking down the street minutes earlier when he was punched and kicked by a group of people.
The man was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining a broken nose.
Following initial inquiries, police were quickly able to identify and locate three suspects soon after.
An 18-year-old man and two boys – aged 13 and 16 – were all then arrested on suspicion of committing grievous bodily harm with intent.
They all remain in police custody.
Detective Inspector Ian Smith, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a nasty assault that left a man with injuries that required hospital treatment.
“Thankfully, his injuries aren’t as serious as initially first thought, while we’ve since made three arrests.
“It really should go without saying but the violence showcased in this incident was completely unacceptable and will never be tolerated by this police force.
“Due to the time and location where this took place, we expect there will have been several people who will have witnessed this assault happen.
“If that was you, we want to hear from you immediately, while we’d also ask anyone who knows anything about the incident, or who may have recorded footage of it on their phones or CCTV, to please share this too.”
