Man found with serious injuries in Nottingham city centre in early hours

Police have arrested a suspect after a man was found with serious facial injuries.
Officers were called to Talbot Street, Nottingham city centre, around 4.50am today (Thursday 10 October) after reports a man was bleeding and needed help.

The 38-year-old victim suffered a suspected broken cheek bone after he was reportedly assaulted. His injuries are not currently believed to be life-threatening.

A short time later officers arrested a 57-year-old man nearby on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in custody.

A cordon was put in place while inquiries were carried out.

Anyone who witnessed the assault or who may have dashcam footage that may be helpful to the investigation are urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 43 of 10 October 2024, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
