Police have arrested a 30-year-old man following reports a man was stabbed in the leg.
The incident is believed to have happened following an argument between two people who are known to each other, at the Forest Recreation Ground, off Mansfield Road, at around 1.15am today (Saturday 30 October).
The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.
The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and remains in police custody.
Detective Inspector Mark Shaw, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Response officers arrived quickly after receiving a report of an assault and came to the aid of the injured man and arrested a suspect.
“We believe the two men are known to each other and the assault has happened following an argument. We are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
“Knife crime and violence are treated seriously by Nottinghamshire Police and we will always act swiftly and robustly to reports.
“While we have made an arrest I would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage. Please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 74 of 30 October 2021.”
