Man knocked unconscious during a fight in Newark

Officers are appealing for information and witnesses after a man was reportedly knocked unconscious following an altercation in Newark last night.

Nottinghamshire Police was called at around 7.30 pm to Bowbridge Lane, Middlebeck, to a report of a fight between a group of men.

It is thought a number of the group fled the scene in a white Ford Transit Van and a Peugeot Boxer after one man was injured.

A man was taken to hospital and is being treated for injuries not currently believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

Inspector Jamie Hill, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We have no place for violence in our city and county and will investigate all reports made to us thoroughly.

“Our investigation is at an early stage but we are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
