A man suffered a fractured jaw after he was punched in the face following an argument about a bike being left in the kitchen.
The victim was struck following the dispute and he is due to have surgery.
A 31-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he remains in police custody.
Nottinghamshire Police officers were called to Bakewell Close in Balderton at around 4.40pm on Monday (19 April 2021) following a report of the assault.
Detective Sergeant Julian Eminson-Ferry of Nottinghamshire Police said: “A man remains in hospital and is due to have surgery to his jaw. We are very keen to establish the circumstances around what happened.
“This type of incident and this behaviour is taken extremely seriously. A single punch to the face can have catastrophic consequences and we will thoroughly investigate reports of this nature.
“We would like to reassure people that we do believe this is an isolated incident and that there is no further risk to the public.”
