Man taken to hospital after assault in a Nottingham street

Officers were called to Burford Road, Radford, at around 12.15am on Tuesday (5 July 2022), following reports that someone had been attacked.

A 57-year-old man had to be taken to hospital for treatment after sustaining facial injuries that aren’t at this stage believed to be life-altering.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man shortly after the incident on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

He remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Andy Buxton, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was an extremely serious incident that left a man in hospital with injuries that could’ve quite easily been far more severe.
