Two men have been arrested following a disturbance in Clifton where a man was seen brandishing a knife.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called just after 10.20 am to a report of a man with a knife in Failsworth Close in the Clifton area of Nottingham.
It was reported that the man was throwing bricks at a house before two men chased him away.
A 36-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon.
Inspector Paul Hennessy, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “The use of weapons in our streets is completely unacceptable and I understand the concern something like this can cause in the community.
“Officers have made two swift arrests following this incident, which I hope provides some reassurance to local people. There will be a large police presence in the area while we continue our work to establish the circumstances of what happened and to ensure we find all those responsible.”
