Mansfield: Man found on footpath with serious injuries

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was found with serious injuries in Mansfield.

The man, aged in his thirties, was found shortly before 3am on Thursday morning (18 July) near the footpath between Jubilee Way South and Oak Tree Lane.

Detectives believe he was assaulted and have asked for anyone with additional information to come forward without delay.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Dumbrell, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This man has sustained some very significant injuries and remains in a serious condition in hospital.

“We believe he was assaulted and are working to understand exactly when and where he received his injuries. To this end we would like to speak to anybody who heard or saw anything suspicious in the Jubilee Way South area yesterday evening.

“Even the smallest bit of information could significantly help our investigation so I urge people to come forward without delay.”

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call 101 quoting incident 62 of 18 July 2024. Information can also be passed via Crimestoppers.
