Detectives investigating a man’s death in Newark have arrested someone on suspicion of murder.
Police were called to Lombard Street, Newark, following reports of an injured man in distress at the side of the road.
The man had been driving when he reportedly suffered a medical emergency so pulled over, just before 5pm on Monday (16 June).
Emergency services attended to treat the man at the roadside, but he was pronounced dead at the scene soon afterwards.
Detectives launched a murder investigation following the man’s death and have been carrying out extensive inquiries since then.
These have now resulted in the arrest of a 19-year-old man on suspicion of murder.
Police have also arrested a 37-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All three suspects remain in custody, while the investigation continues.
Detective Chief Inspector Ruby Burrow, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We’ve now arrested three suspects in connection with this man’s death, including one man on suspicion of murder.
“The victim’s family have been notified of this and continue to be supported by specially trained officers at this incredibly distressing time.
“While we’re announcing news of these arrests today, I’d stress that this murder investigation is still very much ongoing.
“As such, it is critical that anyone who has any information but hasn’t told us about it yet, does so immediately.
“Any piece of information, however small or insignificant it might seem, could be the difference between us solving a case like this.
“If anyone is cautious about contacting the police, you don’t have to do this directly but can instead pass on anything you know anonymously through Crimestoppers.”
Information can be shared with Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111, while the police can be notified on 101, quoting incident 547 of 16 June 2025.
