New parkrun in Rushcliffe attracts almost 1,300 participants

Holme Pierrepont Country Park hosted its first parkrun.

A total of 1,279 people took part in the inaugural event, the highest turnout recorded for a first-time parkrun. Participants of all ages and abilities ran, jogged and walked the course.

Steve Lawrence, chief executive of Leisure Solutions Community Trust (LSCT), which operates the venue in partnership with Serco Leisure, said the event was supported by the work of the park team and 39 volunteers, who helped ensure it ran safely.
