The newly refurbished popular paddling pool in Victoria Embankment Park reopens this month.
A spokesperson for Nottingham City Council said:
‘We’ve teamed up with local artist Smallkid to design a vibrant new mural that brings the paddling pool site to life – full of colour, character, and everything people love about summer! This storage unit houses the paddling pool plant room, which contains all the inner workings of the paddling pool, safely tucked away behind our amazing mural!

‘Through community engagement sessions with children and adults at Victoria Embankment play area and Meadows Library, we listened to your memories and ideas.

‘One thing that kept coming up? The frog! It’s clearly a beloved part of the paddling pool’s history. That’s why you’ll see the frog featured in both the mural and new signage – keeping the spirit of place alive while inspiring new memories.

‘The quotes on the mural? They’re real reflections from Meadows locals about their childhood days at the pool.
‘And don’t forget to check out the photo interactive speaker phone – perfect for snapping a pic and capturing the moment!
‘We can’t wait to welcome you back on Friday 23 May for a whole weekend of community celebration!’
Opening date: Friday 23rd May for Bank Holiday weekend.
