Nearly a quarter of all grades were awarded at Grade 9, with 20% of students achieving Grade 9s and 8s in at least eight subjects.
Nottingham, UK – 21 August 2025 – Nottingham Girls’ High School GDST celebrates another fantastic set of GCSE results, achieved against all the odds.
Today, a quarter of students at Nottingham Girls’ High School achieved all top grades (Grades 7-9) in their GCSEs, with nearly 20% of students gaining Grade 9s and 8s in at least eight subjects. Three students achieved a whopping 32 Grade 9s between them – Dia with 12 Grade 9s, and Annabelle and Rosie with 10 Grade 9s.
The best performing subjects included Languages (French, Spanish, German and Latin) where an incredible 50% of grades were awarded at Grade 9. This follows their incredible achievements at A level last week.

Julie Keller, Head, says, “I’m so proud of this Year 11 cohort, who faced challenges we’d never seen before with the impact of lockdown and Covid. This cohort missed out on several important milestones including their Year 6 graduation and the all-important first year of Senior school, where new friendships are normally forged, and new subjects and interests developed. Given these difficult circumstances, to achieve such great GCSE results is remarkable.”

As well as their results, many students are celebrating securing their places into the Nottingham Girls’ High School Sixth Form to study subjects as varied as Further Maths, Psychology, Classics, German and Politics. Julie Keller also said, “Having faced many challenges, these girls have shown so much resilience and tenacity during their GCSE years. We can’t wait to celebrate their ongoing success in the Sixth Form.”
