The Park Hospital now has the largest high dependency unit in a private hospital outside of London, which has enabled a high volume of operations for people with breast cancer, kidney cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, throat cancer, thyroid cancer and bowel cancer.

In total, clinical teams at The Park Hospital delivered over 10,000 treatments and saw over 35,000 patients. This was made possible because of the skill, devotion, and dedication of hospital staff to rise to the challenges brought on by the pandemic.

At the heart of The Park Hospital’s approach to the delivery of care is commitment to the people of Nottingham.

The award further recognised the transformation of The Park Hospital’s range of activities, from expanding their role in the community through charity partnerships and the arrival of brand-new technology to enhances the services offered at the hospital, including a state-of-the-art modular theatre.

Amanda Dorkes, Executive Director at The Park Hospital, said:

“We are extremely proud of the teams at The Park Hospital for all their hard work through what has been the most challenging of times for healthcare services.

“From our patient facing staff, through to our administration team, porters, catering teams and housekeepers, everybody pulled together to support those in our community who were in urgent need of care.

“Working alongside our colleagues in local NHS trust hospitals was a privilege, and the care we assisted them in delivering for urgent cancer and cardiac services would not have been possible without the dedication of our staff.

“Winning an accolade like this is testament to the commitment of all our teams across the hospital.”
