Nottingham man charged with knife possession in Derby

A 28-year-old man has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place in Derby.

It follows an investigation by officers who stopped and searched a car on Bembridge Drive in Alvaston around 8.15pm on Monday 25 May 2021.

The man from Sullivan Close in Nottingham is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court later this month.

PC Daniel Gahagan, of the Alvaston and Boulton Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “The consequences of knife crime can be devastating to families and communities and we will take positive action whenever possible.

“We would encourage anyone with concerns or any information about knife crime in your local area to report this to us so that we can continue to make your area a safe place to work, live and visit.”
