Police officers tackle vehicle crime after tracking down two stolen motorbikes and detaining two suspects.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police acted after getting a tip-off and found two bikes, which had been reported as stolen in the back garden of an address in Shipley Road, Broxtowe.
Two men were also arrested on Tuesday (5 April 2022) in connection with the reports.
Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Broxtowe Mike Ebbins, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a great result following a quick response to information we received about stolen vehicles.
“This led to the bikes being recovered, to be returned to their rightful owners, and two men aged 19 and 20 being arrested on suspicion of theft.
“Tackling vehicle crime is a priority for us as we know it can have a serious financial and emotional impact on victims. That’s why I was delighted to see this outcome after some excellent policing work following the tip-off.
“These sort of offences are unacceptable and, as the positive action taken in this case shows, we are dedicated to preventing crimes of this nature, pursuing anyone suspected as being involved in this sort of criminality and getting justice for victims.”
Anyone with information about vehicle crime in their area is urged to report it as soon as possible by calling Nottinghamshire Police on 101 or contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. If an incident is in progress call 999.
