Early morning
The day will begin cold and dry, with clear skies through the early hours. Temperatures will be around -3°C from before dawn into the early morning, with a sharp frost affecting many areas. Despite sunshine developing from around 8am, it will feel colder, with feels-like temperatures close to -6°C. Winds will be light, generally westerly to west-north-westerly at around 5 mph, keeping conditions calm but crisp.

Midday
By late morning into midday, skies will remain largely clear with plenty of sunshine and only a very small chance of any precipitation. Temperatures will slowly rise to around 0°C by late morning and reach approximately 1°C by midday. Winds will begin to turn more north-westerly at around 6 to 7 mph. Although brighter, it will still feel cold, with apparent temperatures remaining near -4°C.

Afternoon
The afternoon will continue dry with sunny spells and good visibility. Temperatures are expected to peak at around 2°C during the early to mid-afternoon before easing slightly later on. Winds will become more northerly, increasing to around 9 mph at times. Feels-like temperatures will remain below freezing, near -2°C, particularly in exposed areas.

Evening
As daylight fades, temperatures will fall steadily, dropping to around 0°C by early evening and falling to between -1°C and -2°C later in the evening. Skies will remain clear and dry, allowing another frost to develop overnight. Winds will ease again to around 5 to 6 mph from the west-north-west, with gusts remaining low. Icy patches are likely to form on untreated surfaces as temperatures dip below freezing.
