Over £50,000 of jewellery stolen in Nottingham heist

Tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken.

Detectives investigating a high-value burglary at a jeweller in Nottingham City Centre are appealing for information.

Nottinghamshire Police was called to reports of the break-in at Goldsmiths Jewellers in Victoria Street at around 11.20 am today (Sunday 24 May 2020) but it’s believed the incident happened overnight.

Tens of thousands of pounds worth of jewellery was taken.

Officers are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the area around the time it happened to get in touch on 101 quoting incident 235 of 24 May. You can also call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Detective Sergeant Ian Holmes said: “We believe the suspects have entered the building by smashing a wall through from Bottle Lane.

“Initial enquiries suggest there were a few men involved wearing hooded tops and masks.

“Probably more than £50,000 worth of jewellery has been taken.

“My team is working on this investigation around the clock and we will leave no stone unturned in finding those responsible for this crime.”
