Meet Passan’s Tea Room & Cocktail Lounge, the latest and most luxurious venture from the family behind the beloved Bombay Delicatessen. High Chai (Indian Afternoon Tea/Celebration)

Small & Signature Plates (Evening sophistication)
As evening falls, the menu shifts to refined indulgence. Passan’s Small & Signature plates offer bold, contemporary Indian cuisine with dishes like Tandoori Monkfish, Saffron Chicken Tikka, and Heritage Celeriac. These plates are crafted for sharing, pairing perfectly with cocktails, whiskey and wines, and conversation in the ambient upstairs lounge.

A Story of Heritage and Ambition
When Rahul Passan took over the family business in 2018, he brought fresh energy and vision. The West Bridgford location, located on Gordon Road, the family’s first under his leadership, became an instant local favourite, quickly followed by the bustling 30-seater city centre deli-restaurant in April 2024.
That same year, Rahul introduced Nottingham’s first Indian afternoon tea — Bombay High Chai — in August, and it wasn’t long before the experience went viral. “People weren’t just coming for afternoon tea; they were coming for a story, a memory, a slice of culture,” Rahul reflects.
Now, in May 2025, the family has launched their most ambitious project yet: Passan’s Tea Room and Cocktail Lounge.

Passan’s is unlike anything Nottingham has seen before. Think velvet drapes, jungle cat murals, mythical elephants, and a centre piece seven-metre cocktail bar, all bathed in golden light and soft music by day, transforming into a buzzing, DJ-led lounge by night with beats like Afro House filling the space on weekends.
