East Midlands Railways reported disruption because of the incident.
A spokesperson for EMR said at 12:13 pm 8 October:
‘Sadly we are being disrupted between East Midlands Parkway and Beeston and between Long Eaton and Beeston, due to a report of a person hit by a train, more info to follow.’
“The emergency services are on site. We have arranged for road transport between Nottingham/Derby and Nottingham/East Midlands Parkway.”
Updated at 2:20 pm 8 October:
‘After a person was sadly hit by a train earlier today, our train services in the Long Eaton/East Midlands Parkway/Beeston area are now able to run normally.’
