This is a different incident to the one reported earlier this evening.

East Midlands Railways made the announcement at 7:27 pm on 22 November.

‘We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway.

‘This is disrupting our trains on the London / Nottingham, Newark Castle / Crewe and Leicester / Lincoln / Grimsby routes. More information to follow.

‘At present emergency services are en-route to manage the incident. Network Rail are also preparing to send a team to the incident.’

Trains running through the area in both direction cannot run between Nottingham and East Midlands Parkway / Long Eaton.

At present we do not have an estimate when the line will reopen.
Our train service is now expected to be disrupted for the rest of the evening.
