The incident happened during rush hour on Monday 4 July 2022.
Police were called at 8:51 am – witnesses told The Wire that around seventeen emergency vehicles descended on the bridge area, several police vehicles, ambulances and fire engines.
Nottinghamshire Police said: “We were called at 8.51am today to a report of a lorry leaving the carriageway at Lady Bay Bridge in West Bridgford and crashing down an embankment.
The bridge is closed while emergency services deal with the incident. Motorists are asked to find an alternative route.”
