Pictures: Emergency services attend apartment block fire in Nottingham – avoid area

Emergency services are at the scene of a fire at a block of flats in Nottingham.

12:30 pm – the incident is under control no-one was hurt – the fire was on the roof of the building say firefighters.

Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at  11:37pm on 28 April:

‘Crews are currently dealing with a fire a property on Crocus Street, Nottingham. Smoke may be seen from some considerable distance.’

‘Crews from London Road, West Bridgford, Carlton and Highfields Fire Station are currently in attendance at a fire on Crocus Street, Nottingham. Please avoid the area if you can.’

Police and EMAS are also at the scene – firefighters are using extendable ladders to get to the roof of Saffron Court just off London Road. Earlier smoke could be seen from miles away.
