Pleasley: Police name two women killed in road collision – 18-year-old arrested

Two women who died in a collision in Pleasley have been named.

The collision, involving a Vauxhall Meriva and a Suzuki Alto, occurred in Common Lane at around 6.20am on Thursday 27 November.

The driver and passenger of the Suzuki were pronounced dead at the scene. They have now been named as Amie Pearson, 26, who was the driver, and Chelsea Carlisle, 29, who was the passenger.

Derbyshire Police said:

‘Their families are aware and our thoughts remain with them.

‘A nine-year-old boy who was also in the Suzuki suffered serious life changing injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains.

‘Three men who were in the Vauxhall were also injured, two of them seriously.

‘An 18-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Due to the injuries he sustained in the collision he was taken to hospital where he remains.

‘We remain keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, as well as anyone who has any information.
