Detectives investigating a break-in at a house have now charged a suspect.

Officers were called to Chaucer Street, Mansfield, at around 2.10am on Thursday (23 June), following reports that a burglary was taking place.

They arrived at the scene just a few minutes later and a suspect was detained.

Detective Constable Chloe Baugh, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We will always investigate every report of burglary we receive as we understand the huge impact they can have on families and individuals.

“Preventing and reducing burglaries in our communities is a key priority for Nottinghamshire Police, which is why we have two dedicated burglary teams across the force, tasked with solving these offences and stopping them from happening in the first place.”
