Police issue dispersal order for Victoria Park area in St Ann’s after drug and ASB issues

Police introduce dispersal order at a Nottingham park after drug and antisocial behaviour reports.

Police have introduced a 48-hour dispersal order at St Mary’s Rest Garden in Nottingham following reports of persistent drug use, suspected dealing and antisocial behaviour.

The order, obtained by the St Ann’s Neighbourhood Policing Team, came into effect at 14:30 on Monday 17 August and will remain in force until 14:30 on Wednesday 19 August.

Nottinghamshire Police said multiple reports had been received over the previous eight days concerning a group of around 12 people regularly gathering in the park.

The group was reportedly seen openly using controlled drugs and behaving antisocially, causing alarm and distress among residents and other park users.

Police have also received reports of suspected drug suppliers visiting the area on bicycles and electric scooters. Other concerns include littering and drug-related paraphernalia being left in the park.

Officers said the dispersal powers were considered necessary and proportionate to prevent further crime and disorder, reassure the community and protect people using the park legitimately.

Under the order, police can direct anyone aged over 10 who is behaving antisocially within the designated area to leave for up to 48 hours.

Anyone who fails to comply with an instruction could be arrested and prosecuted.

Police have asked people to report further incidents as they happen by calling 101 and quoting incident 0209 of 17 August 2026. In an emergency, call 999.
