Officers from the East Bassetlaw Neighbourhood Policing Team have been out and about in Ordsall this week.
Police said they visited the village around school pick up time following more complaints of speeding in the area.
Two drivers received tickets for exceeding the 30 mph speed limit and several drivers were stopped and given words of advice.
Police said:
‘Contrary to what people believe we do not just stop and fine drivers to top up our tea fund and we also do actually “catch proper criminals”.
‘Speeding is an issue that gets raised by lots of residents and councillors and if people stuck to the limit then we would have more time to focus on other issues.’
