Specialist officers seized a knife following a patrol in a hotspot area for drug crime.
The knife crime team spotted a group of people in a play park off Independent Street, Radford, Nottingham, around 4.25pm on Friday (11 July).
When officers approached the group they ran and three people were detained after a brief foot chase.
During searches at the scene a lock knife was recovered.
Mojtaba Farjam, aged 29, of Norton Street, Radford, has been charged with possession of a knife in a public place.
He is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 31 July 2025.
Police Constable Daniel Cresswell, of the knife crime team, said:
“When we head out on shift we are always equipped with the latest intelligence and this area is currently identified as a hotspot for drug and knife crime.
“Uniformed and plain clothes officers headed to the area and observed a group which aroused their suspicions,
“Stop searches then allowed us to take a dangerous weapon off the streets and place a suspect before the courts.”
