Police have issued this statement after footage on social media circulated.
Police said:
‘We are aware of footage circulating on social media following a collision between a car and an e-scooter.
‘Officers were called to Crown Island on March 17 and a young man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
‘His family are being supported by specially trained officers and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Chief Inspector Jon Scurr, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “We are aware of a video being shared on social media following this collision.
“We are asking members of the public to please not share this footage out of respect for the man’s family and to report it to the relevant social media platform to prevent further circulation.”
