Rushcliffe police updates rural communities on recent incidents.
A spokesperson said:
‘There have been two attempted break-ins at farms in Rushcliffe South over the past week.
‘While nothing was taken, we believe offenders were targeting telehandlers.
‘Unfortunately, a red 2017 Manitou telehandler was stolen overnight ( 4-5 December) from a road in Ratcliffe on Soar.

‘These vehicles are often linked to ATM thefts nationwide, so please report any suspicious sightings of similar machinery immediately.
‘We’ve had previous reports of hare coursing in Car Colston and Hickling, and now further activity in Tollerton.
‘Damaged locks on field gates have also been found, which is often a precursor to hare coursing. This illegal activity causes serious harm to wildlife, damages crops and land, and leaves livestock at risk.’
What you can do: Police advice:
Conduct extra security checks on farm buildings and machinery.
Inspect gates and access points regularly.
Report any suspicious vehicles or activity straight away.
Increased Patrols: Officers are actively patrolling rural areas with support from our Operational Support team to catch those responsible.
Your vigilance is vital in helping us protect our rural communities. If you see anything suspicious, call 101 or 999 in an emergency.
