A persistent criminal who repeatedly targeted Nottingham supermarkets has been jailed for six months.
Jordon King stole items from supermarkets in Radford and Lenton on multiple occasions from 3 August until 16 September this year – including cheese, chocolate and meat products.
The 29-year-old, of no fixed address, also stole laundry products from Boyes in Knightsbridge Place, Ripley, Derbyshire, on 17 August.
King was clearly identified on CCTV provided by staff members, and could be named by both shop employees and police officers.
Whilst out on patrol on 16 September, the City Central neighbourhood policing team were alerted to another shop theft taking place at Tesco, Ilkeston Road.
They soon located the offender in a nearby address and arrested him for 24 counts of shop theft.

King was then put before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (17 September), where he pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
He was jailed for six months and ordered to pay back the costs of the items stolen.
Sergeant Matthew Leask, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“King is well-known for shoplifting and could therefore be easily identified by staff who reported the incidents to us.
“Shoplifting not only effects the shops and staff who work there, but also members of the public who spend their hard-earned money in the same premises.
“This custodial sentence shows our unwavering commitment to catching shoplifters. If you decide to commit a crime, we will arrest you and put you before the courts.”
