Proclamation of King Charles III at County Hall today

A proclamation of the accession of His Majesty King Charles III will take place at County Hall in West Bridgford at 1pm on Sunday (11 September).

Sir John Peace, the Lord Lieutenant of Nottinghamshire, will lead the tributes to Queen Elizabeth II and the proclamation of the King will be delivered by the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Paul Southby.

A number of invited guests and special dignitaries will be in attendance at the ceremony, which will take place on the banks of the River Trent close to the flagpoles.

Members of the public and media are welcome to attend from 12.15pm.

Flags at County Hall, which are currently flying at half-mast, will be raised to full-mast for the two days of national and local proclamations.

They will then return to half-mast and are expected to remain so until 8am the day after the funeral.
