There is a tree blocking the railway at Kibworth.
This is between Leicester and Kettering and is disrupting trains on the Intercity routes.
Network Rail’s team have now started to arrive on site. Safety checks on the line are currently being arrived out.
East Midlands Railways said at 6:55 am 13 January:
‘Trains running through the area in both directions will be diverted between Leicester and Kettering.
‘Trains will not be able to call at Market Harborough.
‘Services are expected to be delayed up to 45 minutes.
‘At present, we are expecting the problem to be fixed in the next 2 hours.
‘As soon as the problem is fixed our priority will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect our advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 08:30.’
