It’s been a tough few months for everyone and as the Summer holidays approach, local business Rattle and Roll Performance are busy planning what they call a ‘Summer of Fun’ for children aged 3-11 years.
‘Children have been missing their friends so much during this period. The social and emotional benefits of socialising for children is so important right now and we wanted to offer clubs where parents feel happy in the knowledge that the children are having fun whilst keeping safe’ local mums and business owners, Katy Emmerson and Nicky Pearce told us.
‘So many parents have been in touch with us anxious about childcare provision over the Summer. We have been following all the guidance closely and were really pleased when it was announced we could run clubs.
We are of course changing the way clubs run to ensure we are following all guidance. All children will be kept in bubbles; all activities are carefully planned to ensure social distancing; we have new hand cleaning and cleaning schedules but at the same time we will make sure the clubs are engaging and inspiring so that all the children have a brilliant time. We are having a real focus on confidence building and wellbeing too through some of the activities’.
Clubs will include athletics; dance; cricket; drama; rounders; yoga; dodgeball; and team and confidence building activities all with a different theme each week:
Week 1: Movie Madness: This week will include activities and games relating to lots of well loved children’s films including Dr Doolittle, Ninjago, Moana, Minions, and LEGO movie.
Week 2: Sports and Spy Missions: Taking on their secret agent identity, the children will explore the spy world through games, tasks, activities and challenges. Our sport sessions will be planned around this theme including laser beam challenge and forensic football!
Week 3: Planet Earth: This week will revolve around our universe and the wonders that lie within. From planets to aliens, and rainforests to animals the children will experience it all. All our usual engaging activities will be incorporated to explore our wonderful Planet.
Week 4: Superheroes: Taking on the challenge of saving the world the children will be put through their paces in our assault courses and superhero bootcamp. They will dance to their favourite songs, work together to save the world in our sports activities, and explore their heroes in our drama and team games.
But be quick to book as they can’t accommodate last minute bookings during the pandemic.
‘We are normally really flexible and can accommodate bookings up until the day the clubs run, but during this time we are closing bookings a week before the clubs run as we have strict teacher:child ratios’.
Clubs are running in West Bridgford and East Bridgford between July 27th – August 21st. To book a club visit www.rattleandrollperformance.com.
