Reclaim the Night march in Nottingham city centre this Saturday

Hundreds of women will take to the streets of Nottingham City Centre this Saturday (22nd October) for Reclaim the Night, a protest demanding an end to violence and harassment against women and girls.

The marches are part of a movement fighting for the right for every woman to live their lives free from violence, rape and fear.

Marchers will gather outside Blend Café in Sneinton Market from 6pm, then stomp, drum, dance and shout their way through the city centre.

Local Iranian women will be joining the march as it passes through Old Market Square after their own demonstration with the newly formed group Freedom for Iran.

There will also be a rally at Sneinton Market after the march, with speakers including Rose Khoshirat (founder of Freedom for Iran) and Nadia Whittome (MP for Nottingham East). This will be followed by an afterparty at Nonsuch Studios with stand-up comedy and a DJ.
