Residents affected by Storm Henk can book a FREE bulky waste collection for flood-damaged items

Newark and Sherwood District Council is continuing to clear and clean up areas affected by Storm Henk.

Over the past few days, the District Council’s Environmental Team have been working to clean roads and footpaths of debris following Storm Henk and have been able to tackle the vast majority of areas affected. The waste crews have also been out and collected a number of bins that had to be missed due to the flooding.

A spokesperson for Newark and Sherwood District Council:

‘Whilst most of the areas affected have been visited, officers are still out cleaning and collecting bins and there are still areas that are not accessible, and these will be visited as soon as it is safe to do so.

‘Residents who need help disposing of large household items that have been damaged by the flooding can book a FREE bulky waste collection with the District Council. Bookings must be made by calling 01636 650000 and not on the Council’s website.
