A bag full of drug wraps was seized at the scene of a road traffic collision.
Emergency services attended Valley Road, Basford, following reports a bike had crashed into a car.
The rider sustained a suspected broken jaw during the collision at the junction with Vernon Road, which happened around 6pm yesterday (30 July).
While he was receiving treatment, a bag was taken from the man, which was searched and found to contain multiple wraps of suspected Class A drugs.
The 35-year-old man was found not to have any life-altering injuries and was arrested on suspicion of possessing with intent to supply Class A drugs.
Road closures were put in place for around two hours following the incident, with our inquiries ruling out any wrongdoing on the part of the motorist.
Sergeant Matthew Dickinson said: “We’d firstly like to thank the public for their patience yesterday, after this busy road was closed as we investigated the collision.
“While thankfully the man on the bike didn’t sustain any life-altering injuries in this collision, drug-related crime is extremely harmful to all parts of our society.
“Tackling drug activity in our communities remains a longstanding priority for this police force, so it was good to be able to take a number of Class A drugs out of circulation on this occasion.”
