A road in Stoke Bardolph has been closed by police due to ‘an incident’.
Gedling Eye reports that a cordon is now in place, closing a section of Stoke Lane by the river to pedestrians and motorists.
A member of the public was told it is expected the road will be closed ‘for several hours’.
The flood bank has also been closed.
A witness said the cordon runs from just before the Ferry Boat Inn and down to Burton Joyce train station.
A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating an incident.
They said: “We’re responding to a police incident on the embankment of the River Trent at Stoke Bardolph.
“We were called to incident at 7.26am today. Investigation ongoing. Cordon on and Stoke Lane has been closed.
