Roads closed after stabbing in Nottingham City Centre

Police have arrested a suspect following a stabbing in Nottingham city centre.

Emergency services are currently in attendance in Angel Row after a man sustained stab wounds.

The victim, a 25-year-old man, is being treated following the attack, which happened around 3.15pm today (17 July).

Our officers attended soon after and managed to identify a suspect – a 14-year-old boy – who has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

A knife has also been discovered and seized from the scene.

Road closures have been put in place in Angel Row and Beastmarket Hill while we investigate this incident.

Inspector Andy Wilson said: “Our first thoughts remain with the person injured in this incident.

“While I can confirm that a suspect has been identified and arrested, we are still in the very early stages of this investigation.

“Our inquiries are therefore still very much ongoing, so we’d ask anyone who saw what happened, thinks they know who was involved, or has any other information, to please share this with us immediately.”
