Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Inspector Tim Cuthbert updates the community for March 2026.
Tim writes:
‘A quick thank you to all of you who attended the Lunar New Year event in February, hosted by Rushcliffe Borough Council at the Rushcliffe Arena.
‘We spoke to hundreds of people there, and I understand we gave out a huge amount of our freebies from the stand, so much so that we might need to order some more stock. It looked like a fantastic event, and hopefully everyone who attended had a superb day.

‘Our Neighbourhood teams have been busy with several more search warrants and arrests as part of Operation Dawntreader, targeting drug supply in Rushcliffe.
‘The Neighbourhoods team were supported by the TSG search teams from our Operational Support Department, and we had more success following this latest round of searches, with two people detained for possession with intent to supply controlled drugs.

‘We’ve now conducted over a dozen warrants linked to Op Dawntreader in Bingham and the surrounding area, and where we execute search warrants, we always seek to further disrupt criminality by supporting housing providers as they enforce any tenancy breaches identified.
‘You may have seen a superb result achieved at court in the last few days with the sentencing of Tyler Reilly, following some outstanding work from local officers from both Response and Neighbourhoods that led to the identification of Reilly for a small series of offences which included burglary with intent to commit a sexual offence.

‘The West Bridgford CID team managed the investigation, and Reilly was sentenced to eight years in prison, followed by an extended licence period of another six years. Thanks to all the teams involved, and also the victims and witnesses for bravely supporting the prosecution of a very risky offender.
‘We have seen a handful of incidents in West Bridgford town centre area with young people causing ASB-related nuisance around shops and businesses. Officers have been involved with the offenders already and have contacted some parents, with three arrests made over a weekend in February as well.

‘We’ve exhausted a lot of the lower-level enforcement options around the group causing issues, so now, where this group is encountered, arrests will be made. I’d urge the parents of young people who are allowing their children to frequent the town centre to make sure that you understand what your child is doing when they’re out, as I’m sure the last thing you want to be doing is attending the police station to accompany your child for an interview following an arrest.’
