Rushcliffe police issued 20 traffic offence reports over car cruising over weekend

Officers from Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team and officers from Operational Support were out across Rushcliffe this weekend conducting proactive patrols in the borough.

On Sunday night they were dealing with organised car cruising and street racing which included the A453 along with other locations in Nottinghamshire and across the Leicestershire border.

Police said:

‘Dispersal orders under section 34 of the Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing act 2014 were issued by the weekend cover Neighbourhood Policing Inspector and the Response Policing Inspector on Sunday afternoon, to cover several locations in Nottingham and the A453 from Clifton to the junction with the M1 motorway, to prevent dangerous driving and anti-social behaviour.

‘Officers issued 20 Traffic Offence Reports and a number of s59 notices along with s35 notices to those involved in anti-social use of motor vehicles.

‘The commitment by Nottinghamshire Police to reduce anti-social behaviour and road casualties will continue, officers are committed to using all legal means to prevent and detect offences before large scale events occur or serious injuries are caused.

‘As always, we encourage people to report incident via 101, the online reporting tool or between 0700 and 2200 the online chat on the force website. In an emergency when a serious crime is in progress or there is a threat to life ring 999.’
