Police in Rushcliffe were out on patrol in areas where crime has recently been reported.
Police in Rushcliffe said:
‘Officers have been out tonight ( Sunday 29 December ) patrolling areas where crime has previously been reported and is likely to be occurring on a regular basis, gathering intelligence about known drug dealers, their vehicles and addresses, and visiting victims of domestic violence who have been given protection by the police or courts in the shape of bail conditions or domestic violence protection orders.
‘One of the key parts of intelligence lead policing is the 7th of Robert Peels principles of policing that:-
‘To maintain at all times a relationship with the public that gives reality to the historic tradition that the police are the public and that the public are the police, the police being only members of the public who are paid to give full time attention to duties which are incumbent on every citizen in the interests of community welfare and existence.
‘If you have information that is relevant if you see people committing crimes, acts in preparation to commit crime or other suspicious behaviour these should be reported to Nottinghamshire Police or the independent charity crimestoppers.’
