Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards is asking Rushcliffe residents to pick 2022’s best local shop and pub.
The competition, which Ruth started shortly after being elected, gives residents the chance to nominate their favourite local store and the watering hole that is closest to their heart.
As part of Small Business Saturday, Ruth aims to promote small, independent, local businesses and everything that makes them special to their local communities in Rushcliffe.
The competition has been incredibly popular in previous years, with hundreds of nominations in both categories. Last year the Air Hostess in Tollerton was chosen as the best pub, while the News Shop in Cotgrave took the title of best shop.
As Small Business Saturday Approaches on 3rd December, Ruth is once again asking people in Rushcliffe to nominate their 2022 best local shop here and pub here.
These can be any shop or pub as long as it is located in the constituency of Rushcliffe.
The winners will be those that receive the highest number of nominations. Winners will be announced on Small Business Saturday along with two runners up in each category.
Ruth said:
“Rushcliffe has lots of amazing local businesses. From super shops to popular pubs, we are so lucky. It is great to be able to celebrate the best local businesses as part of Small Business Saturday.
“Previous competitions have seen people really get behind their local shop and pub and I trust they will again. I hope everyone will nominate BOTH a shop and a pub. Let’s get those nominations in!”
The deadline for nominations will be Wednesday 30 November and the winners will be announced on Small Business Saturday (3rd December).
