Police investigating the theft of a safe from a charity shop have arrested a second suspect.
The incident took place at an address in Low Street, Sutton-in-Ashfield, overnight on Monday, October 5.
Thieves has smashed their way in through a glass door panel and conducted an untidy search of the shop-floor and back office areas.
A safe containing around £200 in cash was stolen, along with various other items from the shop – including jewellery and trainers.
A 42-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Monday) in suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody. Another 37-year-old man was arrested earlier in the month and released under investigation.
Inspector Mark Dickson, district commander for Ashfield, said: “Burglaries like this cause considerable upset and inconvenience for local businesses. That’s why we work so hard to track down suspects and get justice for victims. I am pleased we have now made another arrest in this case.”
