Swift action by officers has resulted in the arrest of six people following reports of a break-in.

A group were reported to have been seen climbing into the window of a property in Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, and shouting was heard.

Jewellery, an x-box and a bank card were amongst the items reported to have been taken from property during the incident, which happened at around 3.20am on Saturday (13 November 2021).

Officers were quickly at the scene and arrested a 20-year-old man on suspicion of burglary. They also arrested a 19-year-old man on suspicion of burglary and possession of a class B drug after what is believed to be a quantity of cannabis was found nearby.

They remain in custody.

Detective Inspector Jamie Hill, from Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Thanks to the very quick actions of officers responding to this report, six people are now being questioned in relation to this incident.

“Burglaries can have not only a financial impact on victims, but also a significant emotional impact. When it happens in people’s homes especially, it is a breach of privacy in a place which many people consider their safe space, and we will always be committed to tracking down suspects and understanding the circumstances of burglaries.

“We hope this swift action gives the local community reassurance of how seriously we take these types of reports, and local officers continue to be in the area and will be able to speak to residents about any concerns they may have.

“Our investigation continues and we would ask anyone with information, or anyone who witnessed the incident, to get in touch on 101, quoting incident 116 of 13 November 2021.”
