NET services delayed after car and tram crash near University

Passengers are facing longer waits on Nottingham’s tram network after a collision involving a car and a tram near the university.

In an update at around 2pm on Thursday 29 October, NET said an earlier road traffic accident was continuing to affect services in some areas.

The operator said: “Due to an earlier road traffic accident there are currently longer wait times in some areas of the network. Our control room is currently working to get trams back on time.”

The disruption follows separate problems earlier in the day, when a tram fault stopped services in both directions between Nottingham Station and Wilford Lane.

NET also announced a series of morning cancellations affecting departures from Hucknall, Toton Lane, Phoenix Park and Clifton South. Those cancelled services were scheduled between 7am and 8.37am.

The afternoon update did not give an estimated time for services to return to normal or specify which parts of the network were experiencing the longest waits.

No further details about the collision or any injuries were included in the update.
