Officers investigating a report of a child assault have issued an image of a man they would like to trace.
It was reported the child was subjected to verbal abuse before being physically assaulted, moments after he’d been playfighting with another child.
The incident took place at Inham Nook Recreation Ground in Chilwell on 14 October.
Officers believe the man in this image will be able to assist the investigation and are urging him, or anyone who might know his identity, to come forward.
Inspector Usha Madaraa, of the Broxtowe neighbourhood policing team, said:
“There is absolutely no place whatsoever for behaviour of this kind in our communities and it is therefore really important we trace the man in this image, as we believe he can assist our enquiries into this report.
“Whilst we appreciate the image is not the best quality, we are hopeful someone may recognise the man from his clothing.
“If you think you know who he is, please contact us. Likewise, if you witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to our officers, we’d ask you to come forward as soon as possible.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting crime number 26*640099.
