Stalker sent back to jail after breaching restraining order

A stalker began pestering a woman who had a restraining order against him within days of his release from prison.

The victim had an order in place to protect her from 29-year-old Macauley Stolp until 2027 following his previous conviction for stalking her.

However, following his release from prison on 16 June 2025, he repeatedly breached the order by sending her unwanted messages.

Stolp, of Cherry Holt, Newark, has now been returned to jail after pleading guilty to stalking and harassment through breach of a restraining order.

At Nottingham Crown Court on Tuesday (4 November) he was jailed for a total of two years and eight months.

Detective Inspector Sarah Moore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“Stolp subjected the victim to a campaign of harassment within days of his release from prison.

“His fixated behaviour led to the victim suffering anxiety and being fearful about what he would do next.

“She and her family have been through an extremely unpleasant ordeal so I hope the sentence handed down gives them all some respite and relief.

“The outcome in court again shows our commitment to bringing stalkers to justice and I thank the team for their commitment to this case.

“Stalking is an incredibly impactive crime and we stand ready to support victims.”
